Quit Smoking

Quitting smoking can be a real challenge. Yet it is one of the best things you can do for your health. Smoking is a dangerous, even deadly habit. It’s a leading cause of cancer. It also increases your risk for heart attacks, strokes, lung disease, and other health problems, including bone fractures and cataracts.

The most important question in indicating success is, ‘Do I really want to quit smoking now?’ If a person is not at a time or place in which they want to quit, and quit for their own motives and reasons, they may reduce or cease for a period, however long term quitting is reduced. For this reason it is very important for a person to weigh up the benefits and disadvantages of quitting at that particular time. Only if the balance of the weight is focused at now, will quitting be possible. Once the conscious decision is made to quit, Hypnotherapy can produce significant results.

During hypnosis for smoking cessation, a patient is often asked to imagine unpleasant outcomes from smoking. For example, the hypnotherapist might suggest that cigarette smoke smells like truck exhaust, or that smoking will leave the patient’s mouth feeling extremely parched.
